If I could see things through
I’d never shake again
Wouldn’t feel the freeze
Wouldn’t see the snow
I wish I had it that easy
To always feel the sun
To always live in her heat
To have her give me a shadow
And To always feel free
It’s a cold that takes
Until there’s nothin more
It doesn’t have to steal
BeCause It knows
That It all belongs to him
The seed He plants
digs it’s roots
Raises cement
Forms the cracks
And breaks my back
Every ray of light burns through my surface
-Hurting me worse than the wind-
It says “I’m here for now and maybe tomorrow but the cold will come again so enjoy me while I last so when you think of the past you can’t bring yourself to enjoy anything cause even the good turns bad”
It’s a cold that wakes you
And that won’t let you rest
Taking up all of your headspace
Until it’s the only thing left
It’s a cold that wins
But not in the way you might think
He doesn’t want to see your end
At least not yet
He wants to come back for more
Year after year
To see how worse It can feel
To stay your one true fear
It’s a cold that stays
Even when it’s warm
It’s a cold that cuts
A cold that doesn’t give up
The way I give up on me
